The Gold Coast Region provides a wealth of nutrition resources to organizations across our counties of San Luis Obispo, Santa Barbara and Ventura. These resources are made available to schools, community-based organizations, grocery stores, and other organizations that serve the Gold Coast's low-income communities.   • School Idea and Resource Kit (SIRK)
    Activities teach 4th and 5th graders about eating the recommended amount of fruits and vegetables and enjoying physical activity every day.  Each kit includes 10 activities linked to the California Content Standards in English/Language Arts and Mathematics.

  • Community Youth Organization Kit (CYO)
    Designed for use in out-of-school settings, this kit includes educational activities and physically active games focused on fruits and vegetables and physcial activity.

CYO Idea & Resource Kit
Each Kit includes 20 activities designed to encourage and motivate students to eat fruits and vegetables and be physically active every day. The activities link to the California Health Education Content Standards in Nutrition and Physical Activity.

  • Power Up Your Summer Challenge
    To beat the so-called “Summer Slump” in physical activity and healthy eating, the Network for a Healthy California—Children’s Power Play! Campaign is launching the Power Up Your Summer! Challenge.  We’re partnering with community youth organizations (CYO) to encourage kids and their families to get 60 minutes of active PLAY! each day and eat plenty of fruits and vegetables during summer break.  Power Up Your Summer! Challenge strives to connect kids with organizations like yours to help children increase their physical activity levels during the summer.
